Dominance War Update
So the project of pre Dominance is goign in the right dorection with a few feed back here and there, the model is complete however i have gone into a tough spot where i will have to really design the character on the fly it would of be much more easier if the concept for the character was done, mental note- finish concepts ^^; so here are the screen shots and renders of the model it is at 2,984 which is quite close to the 3k limit. also some uv layouts.

Pre_Dominace War Comp
So Pre-Dominance war is up and running getting it's self ready for the main event in January, much is being done from what i have read, such as a trailers for Dominance war 5 with many fellow artists working along side Fred, founder of Game Artistian. and a few other competitions like concept arts and animation which I believe is new this year, I will be joining the war in Jan as it will be a good chance to do some actual work ^^;. but for the competition I have entered is to create a 3d character old school! that's right hand painted textures with no fancy normal maps as the rules state at the link provided once click on the title. So the poly count will be at 3k tries which will be difficult for most artist that are comfortable with their working pipeline; so far I've done these roughly silhouettes for the characters I'm either going for Shadow or Technomage as they seem more interesting to me. I hope to get a solid character concept for this before I head up north for my graduation Hopefully my prep work will allow me to work up there on the model it self while I stay there for the concert on the 25th.So untill my next post take care.

Hell Is Taking Form.
So the concept design was placed on hold as I didn't feel I knew the project well enough, so I used of what concept design I had and produced this rough block out of the environment deciding where to place the angle of the camera to where the scene and the environment. After I was happy with it by placing shapes in the correct position I soon went into adding detail for the cracks and pillars, it's still in its rough phase but I'm pleased with the progress. I may place this in to photo shop and create a matte painting from it after applying some more textures to it and a better light setup from what you see about or just produce a final image from 3Dsmax. So for now I'm going to take a break and rethink my next step and refine it some more, so until next time take care.

Hell Of A Project
So roughly a week ago I met up with a friend who wanted to start a project for her portfolio and thought it wouldn't be so bad of an idea to go along as I was at the stage of no motivation and was needing some sort of project that will keep me going. So the project came after talking about game environments and how a scene would be cool to produce, plus my portfolio needed some more concept designs in it. So we went off on our own to find references to start the project and hell came into each other's mind and decided to follow up on that, so many games and matte paintings were looked at, and so I went on the trusted Internets and my resource book for a spark of how I would go abouts doing this. A few ideas were exchanged between myself and my friend and this sketch or stages were produced from that, the idea over all is that this is hell and the environment in which it rests in but I didn't feel that the area was described well as hell so i added a layer on top in which is a giant crack in the floor of earth and a fellow crack in the floor of hell I may add something like a gate to explain it more but so far this is the process of the concept design.
